I have a 1987 chevy R30 454/TH400 TBI 3.73 standard cab. It has the camper options. I want a fully automatic overdrive.

1999-2000 are optimal, IMO. 1997-98 are good; 2001+ are also fine but 1999-2000 had both the wider coast band (intro'ed in 1999) and first design overdrive roller one-way clutch assembly which has larger rollers than the 2001+ second design OD OWC.
