well a 91 front clip from a crew cab or a suburban or blazer cause our trucks changed in 88 but the blazers and suburbans and vrew cabs still kept the square body design and the trucks changed from 88-98

There were some strange doings in Mexico with the cars.

For example:

You could only get a Cutlass Ciera coupe up to 1993 in the U.S. and a manual trans only in 1984.

In Mexico you could get a Ciera coupe all the way up to 1996 and a manual trans throughout the model years.

I think they used Mexico to use up all the rest of their out dated parts so they just continued producing square bodies for Mexico or something! :)

If I remember correctly they also had Crew Cab S-10's a few years before they were offered in the US as well.

Actually, your right.. I grabbeb that pic from a post from another G.M. site I'm on... anywho..
The owner of it lives in Mexico.. and posted that, in Mexico, G.M. produced Square C-10's all the way up to 91.. thing is, they said that Crew Cabs were never made over there... but here in the U.S...G.M. stuck to the Square Crew Cabs, 'Burbs, and Blazers till 91.. but got rid of the Square C-10's in 87... and produced the GMT400 body style here in 88.. So that truck posted is a legitimate 1989 factory C-10.. with the updated nose and everything.. The woodgrain applique on the bezel and panels were available in the U.S. only in the Suburban's.. and I think the Blazers too.. but not in the trucks.. but in Mexico.. they hooked the trucks up with the fancier interior, and those seats.

I'd rather drive on buckets before I drove on JC Whitney seats just from the horror stories I've heard about JC Whitney.... :)
Never had a problem dealing with JCW, and a friend of mine bought one of those seat setups from them and installed it in a restored 85 k-10, they were acutally quite a nice seat. He got the cloth covered ones. Looked like a factor install, matched the interior nicely.

lol.. yeah, and the fuel gauge says:

"V".. for empty.. in Spanish it's "Vacio"
"LL".. for full.. in Spanish it's "Lleno"

Just a brief Spanish lesson :birgits_tiredcoffee

Thanks for the quick lesson :waytogo: I'm afraid I'd be lost with those gauges  The extent of my spanish is very limited to greeting sayings and few random words that I could in no way use for any purpose  That is very interesting, though. Would be cool to have those gauges just to make people at cruises ask questions :D

So with you being in Cali how far from Mexico do you live?

Uhhh.. let's see,.. I'm up in a northern centralish part of Cali.. (a little town called Los Banos, near Monterey). That puts me about 400 miles North of the Mexican Border.. roughly 8 hours or so...

that's funny about the having random spanish skillz, not using for any purpose...LOL me and you both, my chevy buddy =0)

Damn straight! And you ooze classy when you have the dash clock, lol.

Seriously though, the factory fake woodgrain trim looks great in these trucks, IMHO.

If done right and the "wood" is in good shape it can look good. I've seen some that are just hideous, though, because there's TOO much "wood" or the "wood" is just old and raggedy.
