I finally came up on the grille, and air deflector I wanted from a pick-n-pull nearby.

$30 for the grille (from a 90' Chevy Van)
$10.99 for the air deflector (from a GMC 'Burb)

Had to drill two small screw holes in the grille, on two of the tabs on the top to make it work.. other than that, it fit like a glove...
Practically every mounting tab was busted on my old grille, except for a few holding it on top... it definately seen better days!!

I think it gave it a great face lift!!
Not a bad day!!!

You know... I decided to give this other junk-yard near-by a shot to see what they had. If they didn't, I was going to order from Rock-Auto... I priced it all, and it was going to be about 100 bucks with the price of the shipping, air-chin, and grille.. but a grille with no bowtie...

Seen these two I wanted today.. in real great shape.. for less than 50 bucks.. and they cleaned up real nice.. I figured why not..

Plus I have no patience waiting for shipped items.. :baby:

I think it depends on the bumper...because they have mounting holes for them in the bumper already... I was looking on rockauto.. and it doesn't offer one for the 77's.... although, I don't know if G.M. had one for the 70's trucks??

If not, you could just get you a bumper from the 80's trucks..

Thanks!! I was never really fond of the 84 grille.. but had no choice.
was wanting to do the 89-91 Burb grille swap.. but that's gonna take more time and money. (and I have more time than money)

I did like the newer 85 and up CustomDeluxe grilles.. so there you have it for the mean time..

:)
