more parts showing up by the day. Waiting on the distributor now. What kind of intake gaskets do you guys use? I bought the mahle nitroseal ones which seem like some sort of graphite material molded over metal. The gaskets seem to have a lot of imperfections, are they any good or should i just get fel pro?

I made a little more progress and can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I got to get a buddy to come over to help set my hood without scratching everything.

Fel-Pro Perma Torque, quality gaskets that don't break the bank. Using them for everything over the years.

Well been a busy couple months . Honey dew list takes the priority factor to a new avenue... wich means a dead end for daddy's toys . But I have managed to start again with my truck . Got plenty of parts . And they're waiting patiently on me . Got the back of the cab sealed . I believe she is going to get a white too instead of all red . Wanting to get a pole building started 30x50 I need it bad weather hinders certain projects.

I've never used anything but Fel-Pro. Never any leaks or issues.

Today, after some family stuff that needed to be addressed, I snuck out to the garage. I started the process of removing the bump stops above the rear axle. I went after one of the rivets with an angle grinder and ground it flat. I can see the outline of the leftover rivet.

I’ve tried beating on it with a punch and a 3 lb hammer. I was hoping it would move but to no avail. Before I go forward, is there an easier way to go about this? I don’t have access to an air compressor or chisel.

Am I now in drilling mode?

Wow clean truck still sporting the 80s spray on rust proofing!
I’d grind them all off like that and first try a cold chisel between the frame and the mount.

Our scrap yard here gives $15-20 a battery bout the same as they pay at the auto parts store.
Up here core charges are around $15 and the auto parts stores pay $10 a piece for random cores brought in.
