Weird box on my firewall?

Now I'm going through my wiring and fixing it and organizing everything and I've been wondering what this box is. It's hooked up into the plug that goes into the distributor and the other wire goes into the fuse block. Any thoughts?

I figured I'd clean up the engine bay before I put my rebuilt engine in

It only has one wire in and one wire out?

No it has a plug going into the bottom of it, it has 5 wires on the plug and one goes into the distributor, one loops back into itself, one stretches to the fuse block, one looks like it went to something else before but now it goes into the fuse block too, and one is just open and doesn't go Into anything

Google shows that part number (14087500) is an Emissions Control Module, whether or not you need it will depend on how complete your emissions and related items are.

I deleted it all. But it seems alot it wired to it, would it be smart to just take it off and wire all my stuff another way?

Main thing that box did was helped to control the air pump.
