OK, so I have decided to build a 383 loosely based on a HT383. I want to keep it as stock looking as possible under the hood, and will be running a Qjet, and performer air gap w/ logos ground off and painted orange. Stock air cleaner and exh manifolds(port matched). Will see the center-bolt valve covers of course. Anyway, the quick question.....Will the vortec heads have the correct holes to run my current accessory chain? 74 350

Summit sells adapters to put perimeter bolt valve covers on center bolt heads. I have no experience with them though so I don't know how well they would seal.

They work pretty good, but they cost bank!

These? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/tfs-31500811

Yeah, Spendy at $120, but I'd need a $100 set of vortec valve covers anyway whereas with these stock covers could be reused...Well I could pick/pull those, but this is fine justification to attain the goal of 'completely stock looking' under the hood :D

Yowza! I didn't realize they were that expensive! I still might consider a set for my Vortec heads. I really want to run a set of Chevrolet script valve covers.
