Van Chassis Squarebody ???

I don't beleive this is Photo Chopped either. Whoever did it, seemed to have done a good job. Anyone else seen one?

That chassis was made all the way through the 90s unless we just have more than a few in Alabama who have done a conversion. Ive seen flatbed wreckers, truck beds, schoolbus, you name it. But then Southern comfort is in my home town

Come to think of it perhaps it was having grown up within a few minutes walk of Southern Comfort that led to me seeing stuff like this all the time. I mean a town with 100s of custom auto body men......the early 90s were an influence on me.

Anyone have any pics or info on homemade g30 flat beds? I have a g30 I'd like to make a flat bed out of but can't figure out how to cap the back of the cab that would look good.

Aren't the standard G vans uni-body? You would need to fabricate a frame also?

Mine is actually a box truck but has a door into the box section and the front of the box is the back of the cab. But now that you've brought it up I guess I need to look under it.Bought it a long time ago to use as a storage container never even looked under it

Since your G van is already a box truck, it must have some sort of frame.

If you guys in Alabama have seen a few, and Southern Comfort Conversions is nearby, then I'd go along with it is probably a Southern Comfort conversion aftermarket product. I know I've never seen one between California and Oklahoma or in Texas for that matter.

The g20 done up like an animal(fur,tail,ears and all) that was in the movies in the 90s(NOT the dumb and dumber van) is a guy from centerpoint,AL(where I live today). I use to see it and many of his creations running around town in the 80s 90s

Actually Custom Creations AND Southern Comfort are both in Alabama. There probably haven't been many a GM "COPO type" custom van or truck style since the 80s ive yet to see at least once. But ive never seen one with a squarebody bed and cab trim. Plus that body line behind the cab that matches the bed and the fender skirts...I dont think that was done on a production line. Would have cost too much.

So yeah now that I really look at it...Ive never seen that anywhere. Many a g30 flats ,conversions, double cabs, and so on but nothing with that degree of body modification.
