So is that fan a reverse rotation fan? I’d love to upgrade to that fan for my suburban with a 6.2 in it. I don’t have heat issues but it would be good for the a/c in the summertime.

Yes, it was the stock fan/clutch from my donor 1997 K2500 suburban with the L29 Gen VI 454. Reverse rotation 9 bladed metal fan. I went wit ha dual electric setup because I don't like the heavy fan noise all the time and I like the versatility of the electric setup.

Ok thanks, so that won’t work for my 6.2. Any idea if there is a normal rotation fan like that?

Eric, can you post photos of your electric fan set up and talk more about it?

Today I measured my big 7 blade 454 (reverse rotation) fan, and the 9 blade fan from Eric.

7 blade fan
Overall diameter: 19.5"

Individual blade area: 30.375 sq/in

Total blade area: 212.625 sq/in

9 blade fan

Overall diameter: 20.0"

Individual blade area: 20.625 sq/in

Total blade area: 185.625 sq/in

I was hoping to find some kind of a fan CFM calculator online, but couldn't. Maybe it's a mute point though, because the 7 blade fan has a larger surface area, and it's got a much more aggressive pitch. It probably moves quite a bit more air, but at the expense of noise, and probably 1-2mpg. I need CFM for the heat I tow in, at low speeds, so I'll stick with my existing 7 blade.
