Trouble starting

I have a 1986 k10 and it is having trouble starting I thought it was the battery but just bought one and is still doing the same thing it makes this grinding noise like the starter is going bad.

If anyone has any idea what else it could be please help

1. Flexplate or flywheel has some bad teeth

2. starter bendix drive has some bad teeth

3. starter needs shimmed

4. timing too far advanced
