Trans fluid overfilling t-case :(

I finally discovered perhaps both the cause of my mysterious disappearing transmission fluid AND the reason my t-case leaks!
I went to check the case fluid level (knowing it leaks) both to my surprise AND dismay it was VERY overfilled and I had a face full of Dex.
Not cool.

So....wtf? They share fluid? No. Surely not. Why would I have a dipstick AND a fill plug?



Better yet, anyone know how to fix this? What is the best way you all know of?

Some ******** about a one-way seal? Gtfo. That don't sound like something MY General would do!
Please tell me what you know about this.

Leaking input seal on the t-case.

If you want to be thrifty, drain the excess from the t-case and then pour it back in the trans, lol.

Lol. It was pritty natsy. Ain't no way i'm recylcing that schtuff!
But I would if it was clean.

What that means input seal? How to change it?

It means the t-case needs dropped to fix it. A good time to reseal the whole thing.

yup.. transfer case input seal.. remove t case.. theirs a seal around the splined input from the transmission to the t case..

You need a dual lip seal, or two small singles back to back.
