I wanted a Snuglid years ago, but I needed the opposite. I wanted the tonneau to fit between the rails not over them. My stake holes have been welded flush.
Snugtop still makes a cover for 73-87 shortbed. The snuglid covers the bed rails.

I never found a tonneau I liked.

Jogging this thread. Got a long bed ‘78 c10, looking for a tonneau cover that is low profile and aesthetically clean, yet functional. Lotta brands out there, would love to hear from folks who have them.

The coolest cover(not very functional) that I have ever seen was on my dads C10 longbed. It was a leather looking(I was young when I saw it) cover that snapped down the sides of the bed and had a big red(Black truck, Black cover) chevy emblem embroidered in the middle.

Sounds pretty sweet. I’m looking for something a bit more functional. Easy access both by the tailgate and by the cab. I’ve got a toolbox, but one that sits below the bed rails.

why does the flush weld matter? I want one that covers the rails myself. I think the tonoroll sits inside and the tonofold goes on top. I have been thinking about the fold myself.

East, you'll probably need a rolling, panel or fabric tonneau. The solid panel style will limit your access to your toolbox.
This is the one I really wanted but couldn't afford it. Benchmark custom aluminum tonneau with bearclaw latches. Sport Truck magazine Dec 1993

Eskimo, The reason for me wanting a flush tonneau is an appearance issue. I didn't want to see the tonneau from the side. I wanted it flush with the bed rails. My stake holes on the bed rails have been filled..I didn't want to hide that.

Yeah. That’s the one I’m eyeballing. I like the looks and the coverage. And I want to embroider it at some point.

I’m eagerly awaiting your review

I also crack myself up. I’m like ooohh that’s too much money right now. Then I drop 200 on cigars. LOL
