My burb i had a mag mount in the center of the roof right above the rear hatch glass (mine was a 94 gmt400) it used to rub the ceiling at every drive through lol

I want to do something like this. Maybe with the driver's side cargo door ladder and a roof rack. Then I'll mount the antenna off the bumper.

I forgot to post a Pic of the antenna mounted up. After I took the Pic, I finished wiring it properly down along the frame and up the firewall through the same hole as the speedometer cable. I also ran a ground wire at the antenna.

Everything seems to work fine, and now that I have my SWR meter and patch cable in hand, I can tune the antenna

Here's a Pic of the way I have it wired and grounded. The area where I grounded it already had a threaded bolt hole and the paint was missing around it, so I used that spot. Of course, the metal flatbed is grounded to the frame. Still need to touch up the black paint in that area, but that's about it. Then I just need to tune the antenna tip with my meter

Final step is done. Had to go to an area with no big buildings or trees, and adjust the antenna with this meter. I got it all dialed in and it's working great

The antenna tip has a cover. When you remove that, there's a metal tip that you can adjust the length to and then tighten it down. Basically you attach that meter and test the output on channels 1, 20, and 40. Output should be within an acceptable range on all. You either move the length of the tip of the antenna up or down to achieve the best balance.

Here's a YouTube clip I watched, to learn how to do it. He can explain it better than I probably just did
