Good afternoon gents,
As the weather has been getting colder I’ve been doing some fine tuning of the choke on my truck and getting it dialed in for winter. I’ve also been redoing a lot of the vacuum lines and removing any smog and emissions junk.
To that end, can somebody tell me what this thing is supposed to do?
It’s on the driver side of the carb with a vacuum line leading to a source on the front of the carb and what looks like a vacuum operated piston that when engaged presses back on the throttle lever. Vacuum diagram on the air cleaner says it’s the “throttle lever actuator”, but a google search using that terminology returns nothing remotely like it.
I live in Montana, so I have no need for smog & emissions related junk.
Can I pull it, bypass it and and trash it?
Truck is an ‘83 K20 350 & TH400.
