I picked up a 88 Buick Century, Free for the hauling.
The wifey was going on about what I was going to with "THAT rusty looking thing.
Well, a fuel pump and a set of tires later and this car runs like a champ.
I had to replace the O-ring on the Oil pump drive adapter and ever since then it hasent leaked a drop of oil.
Welp, lemme tell You, After I got it up-n-running, You could not get that rusty o`l thing away from Her, She absolutely loves the old thing.
I did have to replace a coil module and the iol pressure sending unit as it started to leaking oil too.
When I was given this car it had less than 80,000 miles on it and it, just last week rolled over a 1000,000 miles.
It was out of the wifes posession several years ago when Her son, My stepson, was going to college in Goodland Kansas, welding schooling, and She allowed Him to take the Buick. He run the wheels off of that car, keeping the maintenance done and after school went welding over in the oil patch near Williston, at Noonan,He made a quite a few journey between there and here with it too and never once had a lick of trouble with it.
Any more Buick stories ???

I have an opportunity to pick up on a, about a 85, Buick Riveara for five hundred bucks,I`m thinking the most I`ll wind out giving wioll be about 375.00 to 425.00, it will be OK even at the 500.00 range as the body and interior are axcellent, I havent looked at it yet but My cousin did for Me and reported back, He`s a good judge of cars, but abnyhow, I do`nt know what engine is in it, but I am hoping it will be a 3.8 liter as I have a 3.8 with the turboe and I have been itching to instill that engine into something,I just havent found that "Perfect" car yet.
Any more info on them Rivieara s would be appreciated.

I was paid $250 to take away a 1988 Regal with 75,000 miles once. It smoked bad and the guy said it had a bad head gasket. Turned out to be the trans modulator was bad, had a hole in it and was sucking trans fluid in to the throttle body and burning it off. Sold it for $2000 and a Sunbird convertible.

I've also had 10 1985-91 Buick Somersets and Skylarks. I'd own another if I could find a nice T-Type, GS or Grand National.

Here is the Century T-Type I had for awhile. Sold it though. :( Shouldn't have.

Saw this in my neighborhood. One of the last 300 Park Avenues made. Love it. I would own one if I could find a cheap one.

Those are nice cars.
I can see why You would be mourning the loss of that T Type, that is a very nice car.I like that tach under the speedo, that has some real "K00L" class.
The whole interior of that T Type is nice.

The 1986 was a one off as it was painted 1985 Olds Calais Indy 500 red and it had a factory electric sunroof.

Yeah it was a really nice car. Picked it up for next to nothing off the original owner when he couldn't drive any more.

Only 300 of them were black with the silver top. I love it. An old man owns it and he about crapped himself when I told him it was 1 of 300 made, he keeps it garaged now and drives an older PA on nasty days like when I met him.

My mother in law had a 1999. SHe was having a hard time seeing the speedo where it was, so I put in a Heads Up Display from an Ultra in it. You would have thought I walked on water after that. She was always bragging about how I added it and how wonderful it was.

I had an 89 LeSabre at one point. I bought it off the original owner and it only had 70k original miles on it. Very clean car!!

I had a black '85 Buick Regal when I was in high school. I loved that car, but it had the 4.something V6 and when it blew a headgasket my mechanic told me it wasn't worth fixing. I sold it because I was young and dumb, and have regretted it ever since. :sad72:

My wife had a 97' LeSabre. It was a turd that left her stranded many times, but when it was running (and not having the alarm go off randomly in the middle of the night), it was a pretty comfy ride.

I'd love to find myself a Grand National at some point, always loved the way they looked.
