Friday evening or Saturday, ordered some new sockets for the instrument cluster lighting (problem is bad contact between socket and circuit board) along with a new light switch.

So far the shipping is quick they should arrive tommorow, they get a plus 1 for speedy service and shipping.:burnout:

And to top it off; when the guy had totalled it all up for me, he says "Oh and you have a $29 credit that we'll apply to this order".
No idea when the last time I ordered from Classic was, but it had to have been at least 4 years ago - and they kept my credit on file!

BTW - even though it doesn't always say so in the text - a lot of their stuff is OEM (without the OEM prices).

They made a loyal customer out of me.

I order the 2 springs that connect to the clutch linkage from them and I was very impressed. Both with the quality and the cost. Quick shipping too.

If i need the big over sized stuff, i will consider a drive up to KC, its only 3 hours and a nice excuse to also hit the Cabellas, and killer restaurants too.... not to mention the river boats :signs1:

Addendum: Go into local parts guy (also back when i had a ford that had to be fixed weekly he'd open on sunday) i notice a rack of all sorts of square body repair parts, door handles ect. i could have saved the wait on some of this stuff.

He also had the proper oil press sending unit.. got to love the 5 minutes away AC Delco dealer!

When you say proper oil pressure sending unit is there a specific one for these older gauges. I replaced mine it says i have 15 psi running on the freeway and 5-0 at idle. Its never worked since ive had it but recently replaced it with one from napa. I just thought it was off hopfully anyway i dont think id be running with 0-5 psi

There should be a tiny "60" (indicates an operating range of 0 - 60 psi) on one of the flats of the fitting that screws into the brass 90.

The sensor down by the oil filter is for choke control or low oil pressure if not equipped with gauges.

Just as information, the two sensors in question are actually called:

1. An oil pressure "switch" (only on or off). That would be the type with two connectors. That one is used to illuminate the oil pressure light (or power the electric assist choke as soon as oil pressure is established.

2. An oil pressure "sender" (variable resistance across the 0 -60 psi operating range. Used to provide a signal to the dash gauge. That one only has one connection. It is grounded to the engine block where it screws in.
