Man this would be a wicked thing to buy. It looks umm...dirty? for 6k but I bet it cleans up good and there's lots of wiggle room in that price.

That is a WHOLE LOT OF CAR or that little bit of money.
4cam -DOHC- 5.0L all aluminum V8, yep. In 1984. A 928 is balanced within 50 pounds at each tire.
Fastest street legal car sold in America in 1988... The 928S would top 188mph BONE STOCK -out the box.
I have no clue what the specs are for 1984..?

I'd like to own one some day...very similar. 6k for that is either too much or just right.

I dunno man i've always had a wanton desire for a 928 as long as I can remember.
I don't know why - and I don't know where it came from - I only am able to acknowledge the fact that my need has always been there and has never been quenched.

As I grow older, I find myself shopping for them more and more often. I need a "starter" Porsche so OBVIOUSLY 928 is the correct choice.

All 928s had a v8, guessing you were in an earlier one where they only had like 200hp.
People lost their minds with this car because the 924 had come out just a couple years earlier and the 928 comes along and is another front engine car and a v8 no less. On top of that was rumored to take over as too dog with the 911 being discontinued.
Low production numbers, crazy part prices for everything. Much more than the standard ridiculous Porsche markup. Electrical issues out the ***** and trannies that break at the drop of a hat making most yard ornaments. Sexy sob's though.

I know nothing about them. It may have been a different model too, I'm not sure. I just remember that it was the same body style and it was blue. It was about 20 years ago and I had no intention of remembering the car, lol.

“Porsche purists” only stick to 356, 912 and 911 up to 1997 (993). When they became water cooled (996) they lost their ****. The 997 brought some of them back with the return of round headlights.

My pops and I were into air cooled stuff back in the day. Restored a few 356s, 912, 67 and earlier type 2 sambas and older type ones. The newest one we did was the 1974 super beetle (1302) because it was all I could afford at 14 and I wanted to try to build a “German looker”. The macpherson front end definitely made it a go kart.

The 928 was also prone to water pump implosion. The cost of the pump and labor to r&r put most all of them on used car lots, cheap for a porsche and running hot if driven more than a few miles.

Oh yeah that was not accepted either. Mid engine, still not far back enough apparently. Hell the boxer is only sort of being appreciated now and it's been out for 20+ years.
