I have pulled the 305 out of my 84 C10, and have the casting #
It is: 10048164 OR 10046164
So far, in my web search , I have found a grand total of 1 reference to that #,
from a G-body owner who was seeking the same info on his block that I seek on mine.
He received no replies.
I'm hoping y'all have better resources..............

Serial # from passenger side front pad in front of head K0190560
This is a 1pc rear main engine, so it is not the original 84.
Block was made in Canada

I came across a 350 block before that did not exist according to the suffix code. Some of them might be a factory typo if can't find anything.

Can you post some pics of all the numbers? All engine codes begin with a prefix letter, the date numbers, and end with 3 suffix letters. At least I think it’s still standard practice to still do this.

That may not be the case on crate engines.... Mine is definitely not original,
as it is a 1 piece rear main seal in a 1984 C10.

Even a crate will have an engine code, just no vin number. Pictures of what you have may help

If you want another 305 long block to play with, I’ve got one in 39191. It’s got 601 heads, which are second only to the 416s. It needs the heads pulled and to be cleaned, but I’ll sell it for cheap if you’re interested.
