Steering column guru’s, where does this spring go??

This fell out of my steering column as I I removed it from the truck. The column is being torn down for restoration and I’d like to know where this goes. The only place it looks like it could go is for the locking bar that operates the ignition switch in this part of the column. Thanks all

The other location it could live in is where the key warning alarm switch goes as a retainer. It was a thought that just popped into my head. They are both similar in size

That keeps a bit of pressure on the rack gear that is positioned just over the pinion that is on the end of the lock cylinder.

I go in there just to take that annoying key alarm out. Camp a lot and the keys stay in the ignition and I dont have to listen to it any more! Ha!
