steering box bolts

can someone tell me what the factory size of the steering box bolts or at least a picture of one

yes, size, thread size and length is what I need

length of bolt is really what Im looking for

Oh well, they are not 7/16" anyway - they are 3/8".

Next time I go out to the garage I'll get an approximate length.

Wouldn't it be easier just to measure the mounting flange thickness and the frame thickness - add them together (and then increase that by 2 threads)?

I guess going by my eye is better than trying to jam a caliper down under the brake lines. They are 7/16" - 14 X 2 1/8".

I'm dealing with the same thing I just bought grade 8 7/16 14. @2 inches but can somebody tell me what I need for spacers? What size are they. And I know this is off subject but I have a 1980 k30 I need a fuse panel diagram. Can somebody email me one @ [email protected]. thanks I need help with wiring power windows, door locks , blower fan. Etc. My name's Justin

About where the spacers go: , so the bolt goes through spacer and then through the frame and then into the gearbox?

On my 84 K-10 the steering box sits against the frame, the bolts go through, and the nuts are at the end of the spacers.
Never could figure out why they did it that way.

That was done by a previous owner, for some reason.

Some people will use longer bolts and then put nuts on the outboard side, to act as jam nuts. I'm not sure if there would be any benefit to doing it the other way, besides making the install slightly easier (no bolts to line up while holding the gearbox in place).

curious as well. I just put mine on yesterday and no spacers. I do have the ORD steering box braces.

They remind me of the spacers on my transmission cross member. IIRC those were for torque yield or bolt stretch. (?!)
