I bought a 1985 GMC Sierra Classic. It has a 12" lift & 40 inch tires. I bought a 4" rough country lift & 35's to replace the following. My question is do I or will I need front coil springs when I take the 12" off? Never dealt with anything of this nature. Little info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You don't have front coils.

Yeah, JR is correct you don't have front coil springs. Coil springs are for 2wd trucks.

You may need rear spring's to go with your new 4" lift. I'm betting what you have now is an 8" lift and 4" block.

What part of N. Texas do you live in? I'd be interested in the rear springs.

You should have 12" springs in front and more than likely will have the 4" block/8" spring combination.

Is it shackle flipped? Or just springs and blocks?

Going from the 12" to 4" will probably require you to also shorten the driveshafts. May need to shim the axles to correct the pinion angles again.

If you purchases the full 4" lift kit from tough country, you should have everything that you would need (might still need ubolts).

Part numbers of new RC 4" kit and pictures of current suspension would help us tell you exactly whether anything else is needed.

I don't have pictures of the 12" other than just the truck posted the 4" though

Your new kit is just a 4" block for the rear.

You will need to get some stock rear springs, your current springs are 8" over stock.
