thanks for the diagram goldie

here's what I like to do.

with it all apart take gear 12 and place it in the hub make sure it moves in and out on the hub splines easily. if it doesn't remove the gear and inspect for spurs same with the hub. take swiss files and remove spurs. do this until the gear moves smoothly and doesn't catch.

mesh gears 11 and 12 together must be smooth, if not same as above.

place gear 11 on the axle shaft again same as above.

place retainer plate #8 in hub it should slide right in, if not file spurs.

place cam #9 in #8 retainer plate. it should move freely, if not file or sometime bend the ears in slightly. it should move freely. I find that this is a common sticking point.

now make sure the cam fits the hub correctly. if not adjust. after you adjust make sure it still moves freely in the #8 retaining plate.

now assemble everything up to the big snap ring #7

pop the plastic actuator #5 out of the hub housing #3. lightly grease the o rings and reassemble. make sure the actuator turns freely in the housing.

place the actuator in the lock position and install the hub housing, lining up the ears on the cam with the lock position on the actuator. this makes installing the housing easy.

now with everything installed test. turning the actuator should be an easy 2 finger turn and the hub should lock in and out. you might have to turn the hub slightly but the actuator should lock and unlock with 2 fingers, if it doesn't you missed something. highdesertranger
