shift lever on the floor?

hi guys i just got an 81'gmc 4x4 and it has an auto transmission but the shift lever is on the floor next to the TC shift lever have any of you ever seen this before?

I have not, my guess is it's a G-body shifter swapped in.

yeah iv'e never seen it before . how hard would it be to put it back to the steering colum?

Depends on what has been done to mount a floor shifter. Likely you will need the shift lever, the link rod, the pivot rod (with spring and bushing) and the selector bracket that mounts to the transmission.

And if the exhaust is custom, you might run into a clearance issue with the factory shifter.
