Hey all. Been looking for a 4wd Shortbed 73-79, and stumbled across this forum. I’ve had good luck and met some cool people on other boat and harley forums I’m on, so figured this would be the spot to be.
I bought a ‘75 k10 on 35s, a week after my 18th birthday, and drove that thing through most of my 20s. Ended up replacing the motor, trans, case, drivelines, and exhaust. with decent stuff, so she sounded, and ran great. I never got around to the paint and body, before it got stolen from the front of our shop. I ended up recovering it, found it before the police, but they had jacked up a ton of stuff, with the ignition, steering column, and wiring. I didn’t have a garage at the time, so I ended up selling it, for like $800. I’ve also kicked myself in the ass every day since, for it.
Finally back in a spot where I can have some projects again, so I’m back in the market. I’ve probably forgotten half of what I used to know about these things, which is where the forum will be a good resource, and I’m happy to share anything I do have left in the ole brain.
I’ve lived in Reno, NV since day 1, and never lived anywhere else. I spend a bunch of time in rural Nevada, where a bunch of these trucks still live, so I’m hoping to run across a decent survivor that someone is willing to part with. I’m not in a huge hurry, I’m just waiting for the right truck to come along, and it will.
Looking forward to jumping in on here.
