Save money power window rebuild

I have a 79 K5 blazer im rebuilding. It has power windows but all the guts (regulator etc.) Need to be replaced to. When looking at the LMC catalog the stuff before 1982 is way more expensive.

Can I use all of the power window parts from an 82 in my 1979?

Check Rockauto.com. Much more reasonable priced and OEM parts are available

Just checked and the prices are cheaper, but there is still a huge difference in the price in the stuff pre 82 versus 82 and up.

if the doors are dented and rusted up they'll be cheap and maybe the window hardware is good.

Really it's just the motors are so expensive for the pre 82 stuff. We are taking $100 vs $20 per door. All of the other items are reasonably priced.

What this all boils down to is cost. I can buy a new regulator and motor for 82 -87 cheaper than I can buy just the motor for 77 - 81 doors.

I did a bunch of digging thought part numbers online today. I think it's possible to use the newer 82-87 parts. I attached a pdf with everything I found. Please check it out and share your thoughts.

That's the plan parts will be ordered tomorrow. I just wanted to see if someone saw something I missed.

helpful tip. Get the part #'s from where your going to order and see if amazon has it. If anything you might save shipping. Example, RA had the fuel tank I wanted for $100, but wanted over $30 shipping. I got it on amazon for $105. Prices in the example are not exact....can't remember off hand, but they were that far off if not more after shipping for the exact same manufacturer/part#.
