@78C10BigTen Ted according to my search the Carrier at Autozone is $21.99 part# HB88107A 1.375" stub shaft(where it slides on) The u-joints are $21.99 for Spicer greasable part# 5-3147X, all 3 or Moog #234 no grease zerks $18-19 each. If you knew how long overall the shaft was you could run some comparisons with rigs that have a fairly long shaft.... also they show a larger stub shaft diameter for the carrier brg. but I think it's for an extended cab only. It's 1.575 " diameter.

Why not just have them change out the offending joints on the current set up?
That has to be far less than $1,000 for a new part.

Heck, the junkyard has driveshafts for waaaaaay cheaper than that.
I have 3 different ones in the back yard for the different axles they came from.
I have hoarding issues, don't judge.

I had a shop replace the center bearing on mine and it was only down a day. Drop it off, pick off the next day. They may even check for balance if you want them to.

The center support bearing is dirt cheap and super easy to replace. The two u-joints are a bitch without a press but also dirt cheap. I'd just replace the center support and call it a day.

You may be able to get the center carrier off without pulling the front driveline. Pull the rear shaft and then the carrier bolts and see if you can slide the brg off. May take some persuasion. While the rear shaft is off then you can check the u-joints. The one you left in the truck doesn't seem to get as much wear as the rear do. It doesn't articulate like the rear does? Good luck Ted @78C10BigTen ....oh, and watch the mail for the envelope I just sent out!!!

Ted, if you have a torch, heat the ends of the shaft where that poly glue stuff is and it will melt and run out thru the small openings on the yoke ends. Make sure to allow it to cool to room temp, then normal u-joint replacement methods work. Without a press you can use a vice and combination of sockets to support the shaft and knock the old u-joint from the shaft. The replacement joints usually come with the internal rings to secure caps in place. I bet that you can buy all the parts @idahovette mentioned and perform this repair yourself for less than $100.00. Good luck

The u joints arent the issue its the carrier bearing. Aka drive shaft center support bearing.

I wouldn't recommend doing that with it in/on the vehicle. It usually needs to be pressed off, and back on. One time it took 9 tons on the press before the press broke one loose on mine. And to think I was going to try and remove it with a punch and ball peen. Have the shop change the center bearing and then replace the u-joints yourself. Just make sure to mark the shafts with a nice long line on each, as well as the small diameter shaft between the center bearing and the center u-joint before you separate them, otherwise you will have a heck of a time getting them back in tune/time/phase, whatever phrase you may use. You need to mark them no matter what you do if you remove them from the vehicle, that way if they somehow separate you can put them back together correctly.
