Hi all - had a little fun a couple days ago when the wiring that powers the fuel pump ended up laying on my exhaust during a 60 mile drive. The plastic on the connector melted through, and then the metal in the connector shorted to the exhaust pipe and blew the ECM-B fuse. I got it rigged up enough to get home (wrapped a shoe insole around it and then tied it up to the bumpstop hanger), but now wondering what the best way to fix this is, and I'm looking for your help:
1) Wrap electrical tape around the melted connector
2) Cut out the melted connector and replace with butt connectors
3) Find a source for a replacement connector (couldn't easily find one)
Obviously I need to repair it in some way and then protect it with loom and secure it with some zip ties, just not sure what to do with the melted connector. Any and all help is appreciated!
