On a D60f, the caliper mounts to the chunk of steel the yellow-green arrow is pointing to. The orange arrow is what you see in Craig’s picture.

YEAH THATS what i was talking about. Sure you can say just remove the bolts and voila, but the actual doing of it can be much.. more.

I have done mine several times on my K-10 for various repairs and/or maintenance.
They are a piece of cake if you don't live in a damn rust belt.
And sure, they are made of sturdy steel, but they ain't heavy.

The picture I posted before was for a D44, not my D60. When I saw the confusion, I looked into it a little more. There are some early model 1/2 ton two piece with just a tin dust shield. It looks like the 3/4 tons are only one piece unit like I pictured. Although the 1/2 & 3/4 ton 1-piece backing plates look the same, I'm assuming they are slightly different due to the difference in size of the calipers and rotors.
