I recently started fixing up a friend's GMC Sierra Classic that has sat not running for a couple years. I noticed to today after getting her fired up, that the throttle wasn't closing on its own and sticking. I had the mechanic down the street take a look and he felt the carb needed rebuilt or replaced. I am not opposed to this, but wanted to hear some thoughts on the best route to take.

yes, rebuild or replace carb. do some research to explore all options and decide based on available time, tools, skills, budget. Keep in mind changing the carburetor style/manufacturer may require vehicle modification.

First things first, What carb is on it now? Still a factory OEM intake or aftermarket?
