Rear mount fuel tank

Has anyone tried to use the LMC 67-72 rear mount fuel tank tank in a Squarebody frame? It’s exactly what I am looking for, I am just not sure it will fit.

why not just use the small blazer tank? There isn't a need to have a kit, because blazers/suburbans had them from the factory.

the only thing with the blazer is how the filler neck comes out. I would like one that fills straight up like this to make it easier to put my fuel filler in the bed floor.

I was recently discussing this(not here) both the 31 and 40 gallon burb tanks will fit a longbed. One option that’s pretty neat is to have the brake light swing out with the filler behind it.

Personally not a fan of the filler in the middle of the floor. You could get the smaller 25 gal blazer tank, buy just #10 from the kit above, and use the factory fuel filler hose cut down to just use the 90 deg bend section. You could also just modify the blazer tank to have a straight up filler by cutting off the filler neck, use a hole saw to cut the right sized hole centered in the tank, then weld the cut out hole in the place of the cut-off filler neck and the cut down filler neck straight up where you drilled the hole. Probably take an hour to modify and weld the whole thing up so it's wherever you want it.

I'm personally planning on doing the brake light flip out with my 31 gal blazer tank. Mines a long bed 3/4 ton that I actually use for truck stuff and I know I'd destroy a filler cap in the bed.

Getting rid of the saddle tanks so I can fit 63" rear springs and so I only need the one fuel pump for the engine swap. I should be ahead on overall fuel range and wont need to fill from both sides anymore too. I'm getting horrible mileage from my 350 now, so even going down to 31 gallons from 40 gallons total, I should be able to go about the same on a single fill since I'll go from 6-8mpg to about 13-15mpg with the overdrive, MPFI, and good tuning.

My welder will be putting in a fuel door back by the tail light on the side of the bed. Filler goes through the bed to tank. He'll also weld in a box or something to protect it from being hit by something laying in the bed. 30 gallon tank in a K10.
