Rear main and rear freeze plug, these need to be replaced in my truck, '87 350 tbi. Can these be replaced with the engine in the bay while the transmission is out for a rebuild/replace?

That would make me so happy, they are the last of the leaks (or were), and life is easier if I don't have pull the engine.

If it's a one piece rear main, no problem. With a two piece you'll need to pull the oil pan, maybe a problem. 2wd pans can be difficult to remove without lifting the engine to clear the front cross member.
