Bein an old engine there has been grime everywhere! first i degreased it with purple power degreaser, cleaned the rust and original coating with a wire wheel. Then i use Duplicolor prep spray to get any grease or rust left. Finally I used VHT aluminum engine enamel a few coats each then a good clear coat for a little shine, also VHT. So far I'm very please with the outcome. I will have more pics soon i have the block and heads painted black

Except for the manifolds, I make my hillbilly chrome with just a couple of light coats of Duplicolor's silver caliper paint.

Sandblast/paint strip the part. Wipe down with generous amounts of gasoline. Wash in warm soapy water. Rinse real good. Let dry. Wipe clean again with acetone.

Heat the caliper paint in a hot water bath to aid in atomization and lay-down. Two or three light/medium coats - let flash dry between coats. When the finish looks good, let the paint dry for a few hours.

Bake in the oven for a couple of hours at 250 F. Let cool with the oven door closed for a couple of hours. Bake again for 2-3 hours at 350 F. Let cool - again with the oven closed.

That's all.
