Rack and pinion conversions?

Has anyone done one on a 2wd Square? I know Porterbuilt has a rack and pinion setup on their stuff but what is it out of? I'm building a bagged and body dropped C30 and I would like to do a rack conversion, any help or ideas would be appreciated.

One of my co-workers fabbed one up on his C10...I think he has plans. I'll see if I can get some pictures and the plans for you, whether or not they apply to your C30, they would probably offer some good insight.
