Quickest/fastest squarebody

Anyone know what the record for the fastest 1/4 mile in a 73-87 is? Fastest I've found online was a high 10 second pass.

I've seen faster over the years. I'm sure the quickest one doesn't have really anything in common with a stock truck.

FYI. I have personally seen street squares in the eights. I wasn't even in the top five at one meet we had. Quickest I have witnessed was a Twin turbo LS 77 swb in the 8.0's

Well, 9.82 @ 142 is book'n for a street legal car/truck. Believe me, I had a 3500 lb. 79 Malibu (Chevy ZZ572 crate engine, naturally aspirated) that was also street driven. It ran similar times (9.82@138) but was about 1000 lbs lighter! You be pushing some HP to get that tank in the 9's and still drive it on the street. Congratulations and beautiful truck!
