Pulled the top of my carb to find my bogging problem pick up tubes fell out and the secondary air valve cam fell apart. Ugh

It can happen. Press the tubes back in. I don't remember what to do about the cam, but I'm sure it's fixable. My Q-jet book is at the shop so if you can wait until Monday I can check that out for you.

There was a thing about cross-drilling the pickup tubes too. They did it on the Cobra-Jet carbs. I'll look into that for you too.

Thanks. I have the the book on quadrajets. Mechanic for 40 years. I found the parts (cam, new shaft screws and spring )on quadrajetparts.com

Hard to believe,even a qjet can have a problem after 30 to 40 years of service....cheap pos...lol

Funny thing, I've NEVER heard ANYONE get on a soapbox and brag about how nice it sounds when they romp on it. Q-Jet yes. Others no.

I had the same thing happen to the pickup tubes on my Oldsmobile 455. Cross drilled them and put them back. Restored that delightful moan. What more can you want from a 1969 carburetor?
