Good forum with plenty great variety of square bodies.
Picked up a 79 chevy heavy half ton couple years ago. In the process of replacing the 350 with a full roller 468. 454 Engine at machine shop and will post more pics as project progresses.

Reason call it project muscle truck:

Factory custom deluxe heavy half ton SWB. Midnight black. 350/4 speed/ bucket seats/ console/ tach/ rally wheels. No AC. Just missing the big block (couldn't get unless with automatic trans). Ordered as if a muscle car guy optioned it this way.

The truck is very unique with combo of options. I have never seen one set up like this factory in person or internet and forums. Have the GM archive of the invoice sheet and original owner manual dealer sleeve.

Wondering if anyone seen these factory C10s out there set up like this? Unusial? Rare?

Enjoy pics. I like BBCs!!

What a cool truck! That's got to be the only one optioned like that.

You have good taste too! It's not everyday you get to see a red big block '66 Caprice. I also really like the '73 SS wagon, there's one near me that I'd really like to pick up, but it's fairly rough.

Thanks guys! 350 is out and wrapped up and put in storage. Numbers match.
Had 15x8 truck rallys sandbalsted and ready for paint. I'll detail the engine compartment while BBC is getting machined.
I'll post more pics as it progresses.

Speaking of the buckets, does your passenger seat rub the back cab wall and window? I have the very same seats in my C10, they came from an '80 C10 longbed stepside. The passenger seat rubbed in the original truck and it rubs in mine too.

Yes it rubs the rear window. Was really shocked when I bought it that it was stationary. The only thing the passenger seat does is hold a replica senior paddle my son made in high school wood shop from "dazed and confused movie" between the back of seats and rear glass.
His friends call it the dazed and confused truck. Wrong year but cool title.
