Problems With cruise control

So I got a problem with my 1980 C3500's cruis control.
When i touch the knob on the lever when in neutral or in gear it goes to full throttle instantly.
Anyway when pushing the brake pedal the cruise control stops like it should.
Any ideas on what could be wrong or anybody also had this problem...

I dont recall ever playing with the cruise while not driving, so most interesting!

A guess : the cruise module under the hood.

It uses cables to sense the set speed, and typically they dont come on under 30 or so MPH.

I bought a reman off Ebay a few years back that solved some of my issues with the cruise as well as a lot of my speedo issues for around 135 bux.

One of the members here told me about them - I will need to search for the name.

I believe I've found a decent source for a transducer for the '79. It turns out I need the 2 wire transducer because even though I have a 3 wire now I do not have the resume valve which is a separate piece that bolts to the transducer. The guy I am getting it from rebuilds them and had a lot...
