Any one else have a remote ps reservoir with the hydroboost? Do I need it? Couldn't I get the pump that has the larger fluid capacity instead?

Anyways wtf do I use for the hose that runs from res to ps pump? It had an old coolant hose that looks like its been leaking for years all over the motor. It's now clean and i have a new pump in but every hose I've tried kinks because of the bend to the pump.

My conversion from vac to hydro brakes included an aftermarket cooler to keep p/s temps down. As long as the fluid stays reasonably cool I'm not sure why a remote reservoir would be necessary.

(btw, h-boost brakes were the best mod ever for my truck, well worth the time to do it.)

Thats interesting....where did the cooler mount? Is the pump still the same design? That cooler must retain the additional fluid that my res holds for my system. I always assumed the res was there because the hydro boost required more fluid but maybe it just serves as a cooler as it does install right in front of the block where the fan can cool it.

I think the reservoir is there simply to make it easier to add fluid, with the side benefit being more capacity. My 454 Burb has the reservoir, but has vacuum brakes.

The remnote mount reservoir is for ps pumps that have no fluid holding compacity. Ive got a setup off of a Astro van that had hydroboost setup. Its the pump and instead of it having the tank on it it has the fittings to go to the hydroboost and the steeringbox and the remote tank.

That's exactly the info I was looking for but I already went and put a reman. pump on it so I guess it will have to wait. What year van was that pump for?

Also any idea why I still am hearing the whining noise from my pump? I bled system by simply turning the wheels back and fourth with engine running.....

My astro was a 93 Not sure about the whinning part. Does is still whine when the engine is at idle and upper rpms might be whinning at idle because not enough rpms to get the fluid pressure up.
