Just got a 74 c10 with a 350 and manual steering. Looking for a conversion kit to switch to power steering. I see a bunch for the earlier generation trucks up to 72.

wow, I've never actually seen a square WITHOUT power steering. You don't need any special conversion. Probably cheapest and easiest to just find someone parting out a truck locally or at a junkyard and take everything off of that. Its just the steering gearbox, power steering pump and brackets from the engine, and two hoses.

Thanks. I was hoping to find a complete kit but I will have to start looking for the parts individually.

I'd start at a salvage yard for the box, pump, pitman arm brackets and hardware. Even if the box and pump look trashed, they have a core value if you go rebuilt.

They are just so basic and available from everywhere, that it isn't worthwhile for someone to sell one probably. I would just buy a new redhead steering box, then you can buy new pump and hoses from any parts store. The hardest part is going to be finding the stock brackets and pulley, hence why we are saying hit a junk yard.

Thanks for the info. Going to restore the truck in the future but going to drive it for a while first. But needs power steering for sure.
