Possible bad new fuel pump?

I bought a new delphi pump(in tank) from rockauto recently,i am in the midst of installing it and thought i would test it first.i have my powerprobe 3 fired up and ready.i put the ground wire from the probe on both the pump body and the pump ground wire,i put power to each wire and i get nothin on both.your thoughts please

Sounds like you're testing correctly and the pump is toast. Good thing you checked, but it Doesn't surprise me at all. The market is so full of delfi and walbro clones that makes it hard to trust any suppliers of these...

What happens if you run a ground and positive 12 volts from the battery, straight to the pump? Your description makes it sound like you never grounded the pump, like you just touched the probe to the ground on the pump.

I figured out the circuit breaker on the powerprobe had kicked,after reset everything worked fine.thanks for all the suggestions,we have a good crew on this site.
