I have seen those steering blocks before , it's just a block with three new stud's and it goes under the steering arm to raise it up for more lift. I think the drop pittman is a way better idea.
I am building a 1974 k-20 for my kid right now and I put an all spring 8" skyjacker soft ride on it with the steering arm and the drop pittman with a stock drag link and the draglink sit's almost flat , (close enough to flat).
So maybe you have more lift than what you think , if your drag is close to flat you will be fine and take off the steering stablizer like mr.clean said and make sure it's not hanging up anything
