Well tell us about your truck . how much lift , what front end , 10 bolt corp , dana 44 , dana 60 , etc...

there are three arm's for the steering , steering arm (bolt's to the axle three stud's and three nut's and three locking cone's) then there is the pitman arm (slide's on to the steering box shaft ) and then the draglink (long and has ball joint end's with one stud up and one stud down and connect's the pittman to the axle arm).
Which one do you have?

As far as the draglink , yes you want it to be as flat as possible , but depending on how much lift you have it may not be totally flat and it's ok if it's not totally flat , the truck just wont turn as tight and it's a little harder on the frame at the steering box. In other words the arm is for a 4 to 6" lift it will problably be totally flat with a 4" and just be a little tilted with a 6" lift which is ok. If you have more lift than a 6" lift or you just have to have the draglink totally flat you can get a 2" drop pittman arm (skyjacker) from summit racing for around a 110.00.
They also make an s shaped aftermarket draglink but it's a piece of **** ,imo.

Another thing I dont know if you have taken off steering arms from chevy's before but it can be a bitch.
Take the three nuts off and soak the crap out of the locking cones with p.b. blaster , then you have to hit downward not up to get the cones out.Put the nuts back on so when you are hitting the arm you dont hit the studs and f up the threads.
Once you see the cones sticking up a little you can grab them with channel locks and spin them off.
Remember dont hit up , hit down and on the sides

Good luck

Maybe you got the 10 bolt rear.

What happens when you have the front end raised up and try to turn the steering wheel while the engine is off?

(...and pics might help)

Do you have steering stabilizer on it? If so you might have it adjusted correct! Pics would help.

Take pics of the front end, lift, all steering parts. Your steering stabilizer has nothing to do with the lift, it can bind and not let your tie rod move side to side

Why not just get the drop pittman arm (skyjacker) , easier to install than a block ,

And legal too... Lift blocks on any steer axle are illegal in all 50 states, not to mention a stupid decision.

I dont think he means lift blocks in the leaf springs it a lift block for the steeringon the knuckle which is legal.

Try unhooking the steering stabilizer and then see if itll steer all the way both directions. Might be its limiting the travel
