I've been looking for a dually bed for my 86 C30 with no avail. It had a flatbed on it when I got it. Has anyone put an 88 up bed on their trucks? I know the taillights are different, just wanting a regular dually bed on my truck. I found this 88 bed.

I saw this at a recent car show here in town. I think it's actually a great looking truck.

There have been a few on Memphis area FB marketplace the past couple months. Was looking at a complete but not running 82 standard cab C30 dually that needed some body work. Beds kept popping up. Decided that my 4wd 1t dually was sufficient.

Not a square, but I like them too.

The purists will blow a gasket, but I like the way the feature line on the door aligns with the top of the step.

If it's a rough work truck and you just purely need a bed, go for it. If you care about what the truck looks like, keep looking. I've seen it once, an OBS bed on a square and it looked awful

It's not a broken down truck and I do want it to look decent. Also looking into a 2000 up model too.

I get that square dually beds are getting harder to find but trust me, neither bed is going to look decent on there. Nothing lines up and it'll be painfully obvious. Try to find a squarebody bed, even if you have to travel for it

If the question is simply " can I get it to fit and to work as a bed?", then almost any 8' bed can be fitted to the back, even from another make ( ! ) . Its a simple ladder frame that just needs a few bolts and some spacers. Wiring is no more complicated than a trailer.
If the question however is also " I want it to look good when I do it", then I too hate the look of mix 'n'match between the years - nothing worse. If you cannot find a dooley bed, a regular 8' bed will fit. they just have the outer sheet metal cut back and the plastic flares bolted on. I'm sure someone makes fibreglass copies ??
I have a set here ( flares ) ( not much good on the other side of the "pond" obviously ), and have been thinking of making copies if there was any interest ?
The hardest part is finding the cast trim parts that bolt to each end of the flare to finish the body mould trim. I don't think they are reproduced ( however I have a plan for that too if anyone is interested .. "Mwah ha ha ha .. ).

I've always liked the look of an '88-'98 bed on a custom '67-'72 truck. It was a somewhat common sight to see in the early and mid 90's. Stepside and fleetside.

I've seen the newer bed on a squarebody truck a couple times too. It looks absolutely terrible, imho.
