Hello all
I just picked up a k30 crew cab it's a bit of a mutt but pretty rust free and I've wanted one since I was about 7 so some details
1984
D70 dually rear d44hd front
Vortec 350 eddy carb th350 shift kit np205
Rears a ord 4.5 shackle flip 5 inch block
Fronts superlift 8 inch spring
Working a/c runs 180 degrees all day

2 problems

1 the right blinker dose not work with the lights on
2 random weird grinding noise with a lot of vibrations that come and gose (sounds like it's under the seat and potholes some times make it start and stop
And a few little interior things

Any ideas has t case shims gonna try shining the carrier berring
I'm new so this is probably in the wrong section

Welcome.

If you really have a d44 front, someone robbed the d60 that should have been under it. Does the truck have the dually offset wheels on the front, or are they a standard style wheel?

Little steps

Once. I started driving it i did a weird random miss fire under load I looked in to the engine just to get an idea the short blocks a goodwrench 350 with 305 swirl port heads so between the flat top pistons and 57 cc chambers I got a bit worried it was detonation (all my engine until late now where about 9.5) with those heads and a standard deck hight of .025 milled down to about .015 about a 8 cc dish for the fly cut on the pistons and a .041 gasket I think it comes out to 10.8 or more that's not 87 friendly the think I didn't know is that goodwrench uses piston that are .020 shorter then stock so ends Up its high 9 to low 10 to 1 just to make sure I ran a tank of 93 through it and I didn't help one bit <-- good thing for me no need for new extra thick head gaskets I replaced the distributer cap and it solved the problem the wires are shot but it runs even better it's already meaner now next is a wide band o2 and some k5 blazer seats armrests and cup holders for me
