Just picked up this 88 Cutlass Ciera XC yesterday, fully loaded with gauge pack, floor shift bucket seat, Buick 3.8 engine. Can’t wait to clean it up and get it running. Planning on making it my daily. Supposedly the previous owner thinks it has a bad ecm but I haven’t started digging into it to find out

My grandma had a 4 door same color and year. I drove the out of it. I had no idea they made a 2 door bucket seat floor shift. I’d like to see interior pics when you get around to getting into it.

Super rare!!! I've seen a few 4-door XC's in the wild over the years, but never a coupe. Just pictures on the internet. The good folks over at a-body.net would like to see this one too.

The 3.8 Buick (not to be confused with the 3800 when redesigned, 1989) used a nylon coated, pot metal, camshaft timing gear, which was a disaster in a 90 degree V6.
Pull the camshaft position sensor and see if it has failed.

Cool car though. I have two Buick Century's.

Yes I’m aware of that disaster at some point I will be changing that out I don’t believe it is causing my no start. Pretty sure the module is junk. I’m going to swap it out and see what happens

I absolutely hate people it’s so hard to find coupes and here are two side by side both FE3 cars the gray one only had 80k on it. Unsure about the black one as it was a digital dash car

That's too bad. Wouldn't surprise me if the digital dash car has the voice module that talks through the left front speaker too.

The Ciera is alive looks like the gray delta 88 gave it some good vibes with its coils and modules
