Hello, my name is Richard Miner but people call my Ricky. Not phased by being called Dick so have at it lol I have an 87 square body I bought while I served in the army while being stationed at Fort Campbell. A buddy of mine acquired it from another friend before I could get my hands on it but quickly got tired of the problems it had from not being well taken care of mechanically and knew nothing about working on a vehicle so he sold it to me cheap soon after and the rest is history.

I am currently having lighting issues. I pull the lights switch and all my lights except my taillights come on. However, the turn signals and brake lights still function. The wiring done to this thing is a mess and any cheap DIY advice would be appreciated until i can afford to redo all the wiring

Check the grounds at the tail lights . Try putting a test light into the taillight socket and a good ground. Also, generally, it the dash lights don't work in addition to the taillights, it could be a fuse. Also make sure you have good bulbs to start with. And welcome to the forum.

1156 for BU and 1157 for tail lights.
If it's just the tail lights, check the connector. It is likely under the rear bumper on the drivers side.
