Wanting to get some new headlights for my 4 headlight ‘87 square, and will be swapping to ‘83/84 grill, with ‘81/82 chrome bumper with lights in bumper.

Looking for opinions on whether I should go with dark/black housings or clear/chrome housings. The light output is not impacted regardless of housing color, so thats not an issue.

This isnt my truck, but the same grill setup, and my truck is also black.

What do you think? Would also likely change side markers to match headlight housing color

Post photos of the housings. That would help.

I think the black might be too much, especially if you have the chrome front bumper. Go with the clear lenses/housings if you're going with chrome in the front end.

If you are talking about darkened headlights, I tried the smoked lenses on my 1990 and replaced them after the first time night driving. Couldn't see sh**.

The ones I posted also have option for halo’s with amber switchback, so was planning to use the switchback halo’s for the turn signals and then the 81/82 bumper lights would serve as fogs.

Here is a youtube video showing them. They are expensive, but are pretty slick

Amazon keeps changing the links for the lenses:

12vMax 4 x 6 inch Glass Lens OEM Style Compatible With H4/9003 Halogen

OR

GS Power OEM style 4 x 6 inch Glass Lens H4 HID LED Halogen High Low Beam Headlight Lamp Conversion Replacement Kit

Best I can tell they are ABSOLUTELY identical, same packaging and boxes.
