Need some help with my other project

My other project is a 1951 gmc 3/4T long box pick up switched over to a s10 frame. Well I've never done motor mounts before but I need ones for a SBC 350. My question is....is there any other ways to get he mount bolts off besides what someone else did by cutting into the sub frame?

On the driver side I went up through where the LCA meets the sub frame. Just enough room between there and have the ratchet with extension. The ratchet was in the spring though. On the pass side I've tried every which way and the angle just isn't the same as the drivers. Or I'm not holding my tongue right.

I think I'd be looking for a different frame, something just don't seem right about that.

If you took the front end apart, could you get to the bolts that way? What I mean is if you took the LCA out, dropped the springs, could you get to it that way? If so could you weld nuts to the bottom, so you don't have this problem again.

Well I traded a 364ci Nailhead for it. Paid 250 for the motor so I figured it was a good deal.

On the drivers side I could get at it through the LCA opening but on the pass side the angle isn't right. Not sure if it's the suspension sagging or what but I tried every possible way even laying under the frame every which way to see if it made a difference.

If I took everything apart then yeah there would be plenty of room to get up at them. As for welding a nut maybe my buddy's could I'm not that skilled at welding jus yet. I'm only hung up on one bolt and it's circled in red. The drivers side mounts have been changed and done.

:happybday: I would cut the head of the bolt off, and look into a different way to mount the motor mount. Can you get your hand up in the hole? If so I would get some grade 8 bolts, put them up threw the frame and weld them to the frame. That way all you have to do is set the motor mount on the studs sticking up, put you nuts on and tighten them down.

Can you get better pics of the frame? I think any way you go, you are going to be taking the control arms off and fixing it some way, so you don't go through this every time you want to work on it.
