I have completely rebuilt my brakes for a 9in going into my 82 C10 and one little piece is missing and I cant find one anywhere. This is the piece Im missing and the arrow shows where it goes. Does anyone have one of these or knows where I can get one without buying a $400 brake assembly?

Isn't that just a support washer for the spring? Doesn't the rod self-center over the brake shoe? Of so, then it's really not needed, but without it then the spring's life may be shorter. Have you tried getting a hardware kit from somewhere else?

Yes Andy that's exactly what it is even though I don't know what to call it, Ive looked everywhere but the junk yard. Ive searched every parts site I could find as well as local parts stores here in Baytown.

I bet Retro could find out where to get one.

IIRC, old AMC's (like the Wagoneer and stuff) used the same brake setup with the goofy hardware. So that's another group of applications to maybe find the part. I'll bet there's a bunch of them things at the shop I used to work for. I may be going home tomorrow, so I may be able to pick one (or a few) up sometime very soon.

That would be cool if I cant locate one here.

Fabbing one up shouldn't take too much effort if you can't find 'em... I'll keep a spare thought on it and see if I can come up with anywhere to find one though.

So it's basically a backrest for that spring? First time I saw tat. Really don't even need that do you? This is when a plasma cutter would come in handy. :D

I wish... None planned at the moment. Been busy with baby prep and trying to figure out how I want to get the bed back in shape and on the truck.

I dont think its "really needed" but if I can find one I'll go a head and put them in.

I might have a little time after work to swing by the junkyard here in Baytown.

That's cool... It's looking like I'll have the opportunity to start workin' 9-80s, so that might give me more chances to get out.
