My dad had the KYB gas-a-just shocks on his '79 K15 for many years and liked them. For my K20 I bought the Mono Max HD shocks when it was a stock height and used them for 6 years or so mainly for driving on dirt roads. The Mono Max was in my opinion like the Bilstein HD off road shocks (yellow and blue ones). I liked them also.

So my vote would be for KYB and it looks like there is a $40 promotion for them right now also.

Thats what I was thinking of.

Its only a daily driver but I want improved handling.
The KYB Gas-A-Just seems to be the ones for me so far.
Ive ordered from Rock Auto and had no problems in the past.

Shocks play a lesser part in controlling body roll than springs and bars. You should check that your front anti-sway bar bushings are in good condition and consider adding a rear bar if you don't already have one.

My dad's K15 was a daily driver and then hauled a small 5th wheel during the summer. It is stock height with just a summer tread tire and it did handle well I thought.
