Modify windshield spray

The spray on my wipers suck. Has anyone installed newer type nozzles that would be located on the cowl screen area like newer vehicles? With winter coming up it would be nice to have a nice spray on the whole windshield at once to help clear frost....and now's the time to do it.

Get some mid 80’s+ arms with sprayers at the wiper blade.

They may be fouled? GM's "wet arm" wiper system normally works well. They used it for a long time.

The round eyes had nozzles that peek up through the cowl, which you could emulate that setup, but yours are likely clogged up. I like the wet arm better than the fixed mount ones myself. The clunkier ones tend to get brittle, and I’ve broken them not being careful when I’m trying to clean. What I do when that happens is take a hypodermic needle and syringe with water and back flush the nozzles. You can literally see the packed in crud come out the other end. Then they work good as new.

Huh? Mine poke up through the cowl. There are reliefs in the firewall and screw in with clips into the firewall.

What are these wet arm wipers you speak of?

Maybe the cucvs didn’t get the newer 80s tech... mine are like what Jesse is describing for the round eyes.

The cutoff for the nozzles in the cowl was 84, 85 they went to the nozzles mounted on the arms.

tightened up the hoses and she's doing better. I'll get some vacuum line and replace them soon as they are almost guitar strings now lol.

While I was there I noticed the jug was leaking fluid when almost full. This is the 2nd time I've had to repair it. I broke apart a snuff can and used the plastic to fill the crack in with a soldering iron. Before I had melted the crack then pushed the melted plastic back into the crack. Thought a little more liquid plastic won't hurt.

Quick brush to the iron to get the plastic off it.
